The Keay & Hemelryk Awards
The Ken Keay Award is awarded to the wooden narrow boat, eligible for membership of the Club, which, in the opinion of the Club’s Committee, and bearing in mind all the information available to it at the time, has been the most improved during the preceding year.
The John Hemelryk Award is awarded on a similar basis to the Keay Award, but to narrow boats of predominantly metal construction, ie iron/steel/composite.
The Club considers nominations for these awards on an annual basis. An entry form (Adobe PDF) is available here along with the rationale behind judging. The same notes are also viewable here.
The previous awards are shown below. The Hemelryk Award was first made in 1993. Note: Awards are not necessarily made every year. If you have photos of any of the events or boats indicated, please contact the webmaster - link on left menu.
